NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION
 
CONTRACTOR:  Honolulu Builders, LLC
 
SCOPE OF WORK:
On January 17, 2012, starting at 7:00 a.m. work will commence for the
installation of new underground electrical conduits from
the Campus Center makai exterior wall Diamond Head of the loading dock,
proceeding makai to the pedestrian pathway between Campus Center and
Andrews Outdoor Theatre.  The work will then proceed Diamond Head along
the pathway and head mauka on the service road
between Campus Center and Krauss Annex 1 and terminating
approximately Diamond Head of the Campus Center ATM machines.  The
construction work will consist of toning & verifying of existing
utilities, installing barricades, saw cutting of the concrete pathway &
asphalt road, trenching, concrete & asphalt paving and clean up.  There
will be no access or road closures, but a portion of the pathway and
road will be blocked.  Barriers and signs will be installed and
personnel will be present to direct traffic and ensure the safety of
pedestrians.  To limit the impact to campus users, most of the work
will be done at night or on weekends.
 
DURATION OF WORK:
Tuesday, January 17, 2012 to Saturday, February 18, 2012 (contingent on
the absence of any unforeseen or adverse weather conditions, work may
be completed earlier)
 
HOURS OF CONSTRUCTION:
a.     Toning - 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (January 17, 18, 2012)
b.     Verifying - 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (January 19, 20, 2012)
c.      Install Barricades - 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (January 20, 22,
23, 2012)
d.     Saw Cutting - 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (January 20, 22, 23, 2012)
e.     Trenching/Installation - 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (January 22-26,
29-February 2, February 5-9, February 12-16, 2012)
f.      Concrete/A.C. Placements & Clean Up - 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
(January 28, February 4, 11, 18, 2012)
 
ACCESSIBLE ROUTES:
Access will be maintained around the construction site during normal
working hours as crosswalks and sidewalks will be open.  Please refer

ADVISORY:
The work will affect pedestrian travel to and around Campus Center and
vehicular traffic on the service road between Campus Center and Krauss
Annex 1.  All persons in the vicinity of the construction project areas
are advised to respect all construction barricades, flagmen, and all
posted safety/detour signs.
 
The project team appreciates your patience, understanding, and
cooperation to the inconveniences generated by construction (noise,
dust, odors and debris) and to help maintain a safe environment.

Need to get your ID validated and want to beat the semester RUSH??
The Campus Center Ticket, Information and ID Office will be OPEN starting today, January 3.
We will have more validation stations at the Campus Center Ballroom from January 5.

-There will be no ID validations, UPASS issuance or ID production in CC212.
